Celebrate Resilience: A Collage Workshop

CELEBRATE RESILIENCE: A COLLAGE WORKSHOP
It’s free. It’s fun. And as a member of the Southcoast LGBTQ+ community you’re invited to create a unique collage that celebrates your experience with resilience – the ability we all have to bounce back and reenergize after tough times.
No prior art experience necessary. Guided by New Bedford artist Mary Monteiro, you’ll create your own Resilience Collage that tells a story about bouncing back or beating the odds. It can be a personal story, the story of someone you admire, or a more generic collage that simply celebrates resilience.
The LGBTQ+ community is one of four groups whose members will create collages. All collages will be exhibited at Gallery X for the month of November to spread the word about the power of resilience to the greater New Bedford community.
To register, please contact Mary Monteiro at monteirofineart@gmail.com. Space is limited to 12 participants.
The Resilience Project is supported in part by the Art is Everywhere! grant funded by the City of New Bedford through its Arts, Culture & Tourism Fund, and is facilitated by New Bedford Creative at the NBEDC, which receives support in part from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. Additional support received from the Mass Cultural Council.
