Join us for an Introduction to Playback Theatre to enhance our creativity and play, and build a community of storytellers in action. Using Playback Theatre as the core, participants will learn to transform personal stories from workshop participants into spontaneous pieces through movement, ritual, music, and spoken improvisation. Participants will share their stories and learn to bring these stories to life, and learn the applications and settings for Playback Theatre.Stories are how we understand our world, who we are, where we have come from, and what we may have come through. These moments of our lives can be touchstones, full of power and significance. They are the glue that holds families, communities, and cultures together. In the last few years, we have been tested by a pandemic and political strife. This is a time to come together to play, engage, and share our stories.Using this form of theatre develops intuition, insight, creativity, empathy, and effective communication skills, and is used in many settings. This workshop is recommended for adults 16-100: no theatre experience is needed. Please wear loose clothing.
