About Gallery X Gallery X is a contemporary, cooperative art gallery of Visual, Performing and Literary artist members and volunteers. A non-profit, tax-exempt organization, Gallery X promotes a mission of cultural outreach through community partnerships, educational programs, and monthly exhibits. Gallery X is located at 169 William Street, in the heart of New Bedford's Upper William Street Arts District in the historic 1855 First Universalist Church. Our hours are Wednesday thru Sunday from 11am - 3pm, and on the second Thursday of every month from 5 -9pm with exhibits and programming as one of the venues for AHA! Exhibit your art in the Douglass Gallery!The Douglass Gallery has a full kitchen and a handicap accessible bathroom, and is available to rent for events. Gallery X is making the walls of the Douglass Gallery available to outside artsists on a weekly basis, with a 2 week minimum for a reasonable fee. Xtra! The Community of Gallery X consists of three types
of supporters: Members, Volunteers and Patrons. Members are the
only group in Gallery X's community who vote. Gallery X Membership
meetings are held at 7pm on the second Wednesday of every month
at 169 William St. Active members are expected to attend and all
members are welcome, as are any persons interested in putting forth
proposals or interested in membership. Numerous outside volunteers
and patrons contribute, support, and maintain Gallery X's growth.
