The Frederick Douglass Gallery at Gallery X is our small gallery on our lower level. This gallery hosts small shows by individual artists and small groups. It is frequently rented to local community groups and art classes for their exhibits.

New work by Jeff Horwat
A new series of allegorical watercolor paintings about personal growth and self-acceptance. Pieces combine a playful cartoon surrealism with dark undertones of sadness and loss, creating a push and pull duality that is the human experience.

A group exhibit by the artists of S.N.A.C. (Southern New England Artists Community). Includes work by: Sean Brady, Scott Francouer, Steve Gaul, Evan Harding, Jenny Jope, Carlo Marchione, Filipe Miguel, Melissa Napier, and Hollianne Wood-Carruthers.

Jennifer's Journey
May 12—23
A retrospective of paintings by Gallery X member, Jennifer Anne Demers. Jennifer Demers is a young woman developmentally challenged at birth with multiple disabilities. Through her art, Jennifer has found a way to communicate words and feelings she otherwise has difficulty expressing to people and for things she cares about. Her personal message has always been consistent for her special art recipients: "I love you—you are important in my life."

The Art of Melanie Ducharme

Melanie's work is a mixture of memory, emotion and identity. She uses herself, people in her life, and pop culture as inspiration. Like a visual journal, the image may be vague and surreal like a memory, or as strong and powerful as passion.

Pop Icon and the Cocktail Club

Pop Icon and the Cocktail Club are a group of artsy types from Rhode Island, who do a podcast. They believe in the freedom of choice. They believe in free speech. They live and love in the amazing state of Rhode Island. They really love their state and all the crazy people that inhabit it.
Art works by Pop Icon (Marc A Coderre), Melanie Ducharme, Chris Gartland, Heather Hughes, & Steven Ortega will be on display.
