Symmetry of Art & Music

September 4-28, 2019

Our goal with this exhibit is to make connections and create balance between visual arts and music. Also there are many local musicians who are excellent artists. (and vice versa) We are hoping with this month long exhibit is to fill the walls with art and air with music. If you would like to perform a short acoustic set we are looking to put together schedules for the Opening (9/7) and AHA! Night (9/12) (contact Chuck Hauck).

Opening Reception September 7th 5-8 PM
AHA! Night Sept 12th 5-8 PM
William Street “Bow to Stern” Festival September 28th

Special Thanks to the Island Foundation and the Mass Cultural Council.

Natural Evolution of an Artist

September 4-28, 2019

As a local artist, she is excited to share her latest collection of oils in her hometown, for your enjoyment. As a realist, Barbara paints emotion and moments in time with contemporary styling. Through years of honing her craft, she is able to capture the subtleties that give her work the distinction of sharp focus realism synonymous to the effect of a camera. Come and experience her modern take on maritime and nature. Also get a rare peak at her earlier works to see how her craft has evolved.
Barbara L. Leger is noted for her intrinsic talent to capture emotion enveloped in nature. She has a long history of classical training, formally and in studio, with a strong concentration in oil painting. Ms. Leger has also been trained through a Master Apprenticeship Program. Barbara is Master Marine Oil Painter with the International Society of Marine Painters and a member of Oil Painters of America. She is an integral part of the resurgence of the illuminist movement. Her work is showcased at Premier Galleries along the Eastern Seaboard, featured in Nantucket at the Vanderbilt Gallery. Ms. Leger has been featured in numerous magazines, among them, Nantucket Only, American Art Collectors, Cape Cod Art, American Art Review to name a few.
